Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are authorised by the Church to distribute the Body and Blood of Christ to fellow worshippers. They assist in the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass. They are scheduled to serve Communion at a specific Mass once or twice a month. Training includes review of written materials related to the ministry and shadowing of other ministers.
