RINGING OF CHURCH BELLS: Archbishop Prendergast has asked that the churches of our diocese ring the bells, as a gesture of solidarity and celebration, on Thursday, July 3, 11:00 a.m. in honour of the 400th Anniversary of the foundation of Quebec which is the cradle of the Catholic Church in Canada.

ADULT FAITH FORMATION: As we announced last week, Mrs. Carol Kuzmochka has submitted her resignation as co-ordinator of adult faith development and leadership formation for the English sector. She is resigning in order to accept the position of Director of the Centre for Ministry Formation at Saint Paul University. We look forward to ongoing collaboration with her in service to our local Church of Ottawa.

IMPORTANT WARNING: Please be advised that a man in his seventies, dressed in a suit wearing a Knights of Columbus insignia with the name "Peter Nolan", has been taking up collections for his own purposes in some our parishes. He usually stands at the back of the church during masses and uses a basket to collect money. Although the man in question has been ticketed and warned by police, he has threatened to pursue his activities in other churches in the City. So please be on the look out.

Prayer for our Archbishop

O Lord,
who in order to feed your flock
have set your servant Terrence over it
as a successor to the Apostles,
grant him, we pray,
the spirit of counsel and fortitude,
the spirit of knowledge and reverence,
so that by faithfully governing the people entrusted to him,
he may build up in the world
the sacrament of the Church.
We ask this through
our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit,
one God for ever and ever. Amen.
